The aim of the course is to improve participants’ linguistic skills in English academic terminology by drawing academic texts from a broad subject. In addition to familiarity with the specific terminology and grammar-editing phenomena of academic speech, emphasis is also put on the development of skills for the comprehension and writing of such texts.
After successful completion of the course, the trainee will be able to:
- understand the basic terminology of English texts (mainly academic papers & scientific articles)
- to understand the linguistic structures (grammar / editorial) of academic speech and to begin to produce texts (or modules of these texts) using corresponding structures.
